Common questions
Is there any commission or booking fee?+
No. WakeVenues charges no commission and no booking fees on any plan, ever. The price you see is the only price you pay.
What are enquiry credits?+
One credit equals one family enquiry delivered to your inbox. Every new venue starts with 5 free credits to trial the platform. There is no time limit on using your 5 credits, take as long as you need. They simply pause when you have used them all.
What happens to my listing once I have used my 5 free enquiries?+
Your listing stays live and visible on WakeVenues. Families can still find you in search results and view your full profile. New enquiries pause until you upgrade to Solo. Your existing enquiries, photos and venue details all remain unaffected.
Will I be charged or upgraded automatically when my trial enquiries run out?+
No. The Free plan never converts automatically to a paid plan. We do not take card details when you register for the Free trial, so no charge is possible without your action. You will receive an email when your trial enquiries are running low and another when they are used up, but it is entirely your choice whether to upgrade to Solo at that point.
What is the Founder Rate?+
The Founder Rate is a permanent discounted price available to the first 200 venues to join on a paid plan. Founder prices are locked for life and will only ever increase in line with CPI, capped at 2% per year. Once the first 200 places are taken, standard pricing applies.
Can I cancel at any time?+
Yes. Solo can be cancelled any time from your dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period. No contracts, no minimum terms.
Do you list venues for other event types?+
Many of our venues host more than just funeral wakes. As a WakeVenues member, you receive a preferential rate on ChooseYourVenue (chooseyourvenue.com), our sister platform from CYE Group. CYV covers corporate meetings, social gatherings, parties, anniversaries and over thirty other event types. One application, two listings, broader reach.
Are prices inclusive of VAT?+
Prices shown on this page exclude VAT. UK VAT at the standard rate (currently 20%) is added at checkout. Our VAT number is GB 518 640 291. If your venue is VAT-registered, you can reclaim the VAT on your WakeVenues subscription as a business expense.
