A sip and see is the post-birth gathering: guests drop in to meet the new baby over drinks and light food, usually within the first few months. It is lighter and more informal than a shower, often a come-and-go open house across two or three hours, so the venue brief changes: somewhere quiet enough for a sleeping baby, with pram access, space for feeding and changing, and relaxed per-person catering rather than a sit-down spread.
